We stock pressure treated posts, rails, edging boards, sleepers and featheredge.
We offer a range of slower growing redwood timber and some standard whitewood timber. Redwood absorbs treatment better than whitewood and is less likely to distort. Redwood also takes fixings well. It has a longer life expectancy than whitewood. Visit our planed timber page for our range for smooth timbers. All our timbers are treated to UC4 (In Ground/ground contact) unless marked UC3 (Above ground use) Not all pressure treated timber is created equal, so when you are shopping around be sure to ask for UC4

Rails & Gravel Boards
Below you will find our range of sawn timber boards & rails . Our most popular fencing rail is the 88 x 38mm. All our timbers are clearly mark UC4- inground contact treatment. UC3 exterior above ground use. Don’t forget your fixings. If you plan on cutting your timbers you should reseal the ends with preserver.
Posts & Sleepers
Sleepers & posts are one of the most popular timber products but not all are created equal. We treated all of our sleepers to UC4 (In ground contact) to provide a sleeper that is fit for purpose. We offer an range of sizes. We offer redwood options where possible. So weather you are putting in a raised bed or repairing your fence our friendly team can help with calculations. Don’t forget your fixings and cut end preserver if you are trimming to size.
Featheredge / Pegs/ Capping / Small Section
Our smaller section timbers are just as important as the big ones. Timber pegs for that edging board or shuttering to our easy to install featheredge boards, browse the small stuff and don’t forget your fixings.
TOP TIP: our featheredge requires 10 boards per l/m with an overlap of 25mm

Not all stakes are created equal.
The market is flooded with ‘cheap stakes’ that are only treated to UC3, they just don’t tell you! here at Egertons Timber we only offer stakes treated to UC4. Our peeled redwood stakes are popular for their longer life expectancy than the average spruce stake.
