Thermotimbers are timber that has been through a heat treatment that is in excess of 200 degrees centigrade. Through this process chemical and structural changes occur in the wood thus making a durable and stable timber with a life span of around 30 years. With this new found stability it makes a great cladding timber . This process also mans that heat and sound insulation is improved by about 30% compared to other pressure treated cladding timbers. No chemicals are used in the treatment process but the changes that incur increase its biological resistance to decay and pests.

It can have a strong and boatful depth of colour which left will naturally turn silvery. You can apply treatments with UV protection. A clear or pigmented wood oil, wax, wood stain, paint or varnish is acceptable. Coatings with UV protection will protect the Thermotimber surface from lightening and also enhance the natural structure pattern of the Thermotimber. Surface treatment can be done immediately before installation or immediately after installation by applying a thin protective layer to the wood.

Finish Line Cladding

The Finish LIne Cladding Collection is the end result of collaboration between some of the world's most progessive materials suppliers.

The Finish Line Collection includes 12 unique colour options. These range from traditional wood finishes like the Summer Oak option to more contemporary finishes such as Slate Grey, Apricot and Charcoal.

Durable:

Accoya Timber is the only CLASS 1 DURABLE product that can offer a 50 year warranty.

Sustainability:

Acetylation is the process of reacting a sustainably-sourced, fast growing Radiata pine softwood with acetic anhydride (a derivative of acetic acid; the main constituent part of vinegar). This process alters the cell structure of the timber, reducing its ability to absorb water. The result is a timber that has extremely low shrinkage and swelling as well as superb dimensional stability, making it the perfect material for cladding.

All Accoya Timber is grown and sourced from sustainable certified wood farms.

Quality:

By combining the highest quality timber, coatings and surface treatment technologies, the Finish Line cladding collection delivers a peerless, fully finished cladding solution:

  • Accoya timber used for the cladding boards has a warranty of up to 50 years† and its high performance is recognised worldwide.

  • Its uniquely sanded and brushed surface allows the non-film based Sansin coating to penetrate beneath the surface of the timber, allowing the finish to bind to the cells preventing peeling and cracking.

  • Our low VOC, factory applied coating process allows for full coverage of cladding boards; front, back and ends, effectively waterproofing the timber in a breathable envelope.

  • Sansin’s specialised tinting system allows longer lasting protection against UV breakdown.

  • The subtle matt finish in 12 exclusive, contemporary colours, allows the beauty of the grain to show through.

  • The entire process, from guidance on specification, to profiling and surface finishing of timber, coating of boards, delivery on site and after sales service, all undertaken under one roof.
