Milled from slow grown Scandinavian redwood then put into through Thermo process. This method uses heat and steam to change the timber at a molecular level. This results in a timber that has a much longer life expectancy of around 20+ years.
Thermo timbers take stains and finishes well. The warm brown tone of this product will fade quite quickly upon exposure to UV light and additional product should be applied to slow down the natural silvering process. We recommend Armour Flex UV protector. Thermo timbers also accept solvent based stains well, our Barrettine wood treatment is a great choice.
Stainless steel fixings should be used.
For all venetian fencing project we strongly advise that 10% is added to your requirements. Timber is a natural product and we do not consider, movement, knots or splits as defects.

The Thermo process removes the cellulous from the timber which can make it quite brittle and breakages are of a higher percentage in this type of timber so a MINIMUM of 10% waste factor should be included in your calculations.
